Topic for 3rd grade scholars is tempo: adagio, moderato, and allegro...we move and perform rhythms to a variety of tempi...we must create our own fabulous rhythms to perform and decide which tempo we want to use! We play instruments on DAY ONE! Metals, Woods, and Skins OH MY!! Conducting the Chicken/Hen/Rooster Orchestra! What this pic doesn't capture is the amazing way this Kindergarten Scholar used his left hand to start and stop each sound group! Junior Orchestra Conductors!
#startthemearly! One of my favorite activities this summer was attending the World Drumming Training Session for a full week of drumming FUN! It was amazing with some awesome music making and incredibly talented teachers! Grateful for the chance to better myself as a music educator!! STEM in the music classroom...Foley artists creating sound effects using everyday "found sound" objects. Silent video clips on iPads act as their inspiration for their aural creations. These 3rd graders are having a blast playing TURKEY ON THE FENCEPOST Game with our special guest, TOM THE TURKEY!! Those foxes were really working hard to snatch that poor turkey!! My 5th grade classes have done a wonderful job working on our musical Safari activity! It has been so fun to watch them grow and learn while music-making! They are so proud of their results, I love the looks on their faces when they've done a great job and know they sound great!! |
